A trained and certified teacher, I’ve worked in education for more than 15 years – teaching in the classroom, training new teachers, writing and conducting IEPs, and consulting with experienced teachers. I have had success with individual and class-wide behavior management with children of all ages. I've also been trained in an effective method for helping kids and families who are struggling with explosive behavioral problems.
I have had tremendous success working with various students of different ages helping them to complete homework efficiently and to more deeply understand and apply concepts they've learned. I've helped students in all academic areas and specialize in math.
Now I am also offering support to families who are struggling with a child's behavior, teaching them skills to help minimize and resolve behavior challenges. This method emphasizes collaboration, pre-planning, and communication, while reducing outbursts, yelling, and general 'inappropriate' behavior.
Finally, I am an advocate for students with disabilities and their families. I can assist with all stages of the process, from requesting an evaluation from the school district to interpreting the information, as well as attending meetings and ensuring your child's rights under IDEA and ADA are met.
